Important Things Your Family or Executor Will Need to Know
You know where your loved one lives and that he owns 2 cars and has a membership to the local gym. But do know who he pays his mortgage and car payment to. How about his credit card companies. You have heard him talking about his Will and Estate plan. Do you know where they are? Like most of us we fail to leave detailed instructions as to where these items can be located.
Write everything down and give a copy to a family member or lawyer. Another option is to put a copy in a Safety Deposit at a Bank and let someone know that upon you death that everything can be found there.
Here are the key pieces of information that your family, executor and loved ones will need to know once you’re gone.
- Where they can find your Will - The location of your safety deposit box and where to find the key.
- Name and address of your lawyer, financial adviser, and insurance agent.
- What kind of funeral you want including a prewritten obituary if you have written one.
- Where you keep your important documents.
- Phone numbers and reminders to notify Social Security and VA Benefits, etc. that you have passed away

Details of any insurance policies on your life.

Information about your bank accounts, investments, pensions, and other property.

Details of your debts. Include the contact information of all debtees.
